Main research activities/topics/projects  

Innovative analytical strategies
Development of innovative analytical methods to verify the authenticity, to assess the quality and the traceability of food products. Development of analytical methods for the detection of food frauds. Non-destructive analytical technologies and chemometrics for food authentication.


Food safety
Development and application of analytical methods for the identification and quantification of potentially harmful substances in food products. Mass spectrometry-based identification of compounds of toxicological interest. Monitoring of food contaminants and risk assessment.

Analytical techniques: FT-NIR, ATR-FTIR, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, HPLC-UV, IC-PAD
