Main research activities/topics/projects

Computational cosmology, with particular focus on simulations methods to test extended cosmological models including Dark Energy, Modified Gravity, local inhomogeneities, primordial non-Gaussianity, massive neutrinos, and other possible scenarios beyond LCDM. The activities may involve both developing and/or optimising numerical codes as well as running and analysing large sets of cosmological simulations to extract observable statistics that can be tested with current and upcoming large-scale structure surveys. Applications of these numerical methods to the emerging field of gravitational wave cosmology will also be possible.

Special entry requirements

A good knowledge of theoretical cosmology and good programming skills, in particular for parallel computing with distributed memory architectures (MPI). Previous experience with N-body simulations and with the Gadget code is also welcome.

Duration in months (min-max)
