Main research activities/topics/projects

The proposed research focuses on socio-criminological and legal issues about the involvement of women both as combatants and victims in the armed struggle conducted by organised groups and their role in peace processes. 

The research plan is coherent with National Ph.D. in Peace Studies (https://phd.uniroma1.it/web/NATIONAL-PHD-IN-PEACE-STUDIES_nD4085_EN.aspx), focusing on themes like individual and collective violence, gender justice in peace processes, peacebuilding in post-conflict societies. Candidates can be integrated both in lectures of the PhD programme in peace studies and in research activities on violence and transitionl justice of the Criminology and Public Policy Research Centre (Department of Law “Cesare Beccaria”, University of Milan).
