Main research activities/topics/projects

Students will engage in research activity with Prof. Magni focused on financial modelling of industrial projects. The research covers:

  • Innovative approaches to financial planning, evaluation, and analysis
  • Analysis and creation of ex-ante and ex-post performance measures
  • Multi-criteria decision-making in finance
  • Scenario and sensitivity analysis applied to corporate and industrial issues.

The research is primarily theoretical and normative but aims to develop models for practical applications.  Proficiency in English is required, and students should also be open to learning Italian. Free Italian courses are offered by the UNIMORE language centre.nThere may also be opportunities for collaborations with the research group of Prof. Manuel Iori (Department of Sciences and Method of Engineering, UNIMORE).

Special entry requirements

Proficiency in mathematics, programming skills and application of Monte-Carlo methods, research interests in financial modelling, capital budgeting, accounting and finance, sensitivity analysis, basic knowledge of scientific writing, including the ability to produce clear and concise research reports and papers. 

Industrial engineers are welcome as well as students in accounting and finance with a good quantitative background.
