The prospective Brazilian candidates will study the reception of Italian criminological positivism in Brazil and in other South American countries, where the original books by Lombroso, Ferri, Garofalo etc. were translated and “metabolized”. The phenomenon will be studied from two points of view: i) as a form of ideological influence or “cultural neocolonialism”; ii) as a basis for the development of the legal system.
