The ACT4CAP27 project adopts a comprehensive food system approach, focusing on building analytical capacity for the quantitative assessment of the impacts of upcoming agri-food policies on the economic, social (including health), environmental, and climate sustainability of food systems.
The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is a pivotal EU policy that upholds agriculture, ensures food security, and fosters rural development, playing a vital role in achieving the goals outlined in the European Green Deal. However, current quantitative tools need to broaden their thematic coverage to comprehensively address the components of the European Green Deal. The EU-funded ACT4CAP27 project aims to enhance the analytical capacity of crucial policy tools. It contributes evidence-based knowledge to support the analysis and design of post-2027 agri-food policies. It develops an interdisciplinary framework to quantify various aspects of the EU agri-food system and related policies, encompassing economic, social, environmental, and climate sustainability impacts
UNIROMA3 participates to the ACT4CAP27 project consortium. In particular, UNIROMA3 contributes to investigate the sustainability dimension of EU food systems, develop modules for environmental and socio-economic assessment, enhance GVC representation in and update database. UNIROMA3 is also engaged in organizing capacity building activities and providing new evidence for future EU policies.
