CHL Centre for Healthy Longevity, University of Bergamo
The Centre for Healthy Longevity (CHL) at the University of Bergamo represents a pioneering frontier in the study of aging, moving beyond traditional "service-based" models toward a future-oriented paradigm of innovation. We are looking for passionate postgraduate students and young researchers to join our multidisciplinary team in redefining what it means to grow old in the 21st century.
Directed by Prof.ssa Francesca Morganti, the CHL operates on the principle that longevity is not merely a biological phase but a transdisciplinary challenge involving psychological, social, and technological dimensions. Our research is dedicated to optimizing health trajectories for both the current elderly population and those who are approaching old age.
We work in close synergy with the PhD program in "Health and Longevity", a joint initiative of the University of Bergamo with the IRCCS Mario Negri Institute. This collaboration ensures that our researchers have access to cutting-edge laboratories and a network of prestigious partners, including the Municipality and Confindustria Bergamo and the Federation of Biomedical Research (FERB), Neurological Hospital S. Isidoro (BG).
Young researchers at CHL are invited to contribute to three strategic pillars:
One of CHL’s greatest strengths is its diverse team, which includes experts in engineering, management, urban planning,
neuropsychology, and biomedical sciences. We foster an inclusive environment where international collaboration is central. Reflecting our global outlook, we are proud to host a research team that operates in Italian, English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, facilitating cross-cultural exchange and comparative studies on aging trajectories.
We invite you to join us in Bergamo to help draw the "New Map of Life," where aging is not defined by fragility but by continued growth and social integration.
