Main research activities/topics/projects

The course trains professionals specialised in the enhancement of the entire range of cultural assets, from their scientific analysis to their communication to the public also through digital technologies, with a special focus on the sector of museums and archival and library assets, as a pivotal element of the memory of communities and a point of access to knowledge of the material and immaterial cultural heritage. 

The training and professionalisation pathway that the interclass degree offers is unique in Italy, as it integrates the methods and tools of the two degree classes LM-5 (Archives and Library Science) and LM-92 (Theories of Communication). 

The course adopts an innovative approach to didactics, whereby training activities are carried out both through traditional face-to-face and on-site seminars and through professional experiences at partner institutions, in direct contact with cultural heritage. 

The Master's Degree Course provides, in the first year, a common curriculum; in the second year, two distinct curricula, each conforming to one of the two degree classes: 

- the 'Analysis of cultural heritage' curriculum, provides activities aimed at advanced research in the field of archives, libraries and the conservation and valorisation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, within a solid theoretical framework providing knowledge in the artistic, literary, historical, linguistic and sociological fields; 

- the "Communication of cultural heritage" curriculum provides activities aimed at the acquisition of specialist theoretical and methodological skills in the field of
