Mobility experience with a research focus
Master students involved in the final research, PhD sandwich, Post Doc
Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences, University of Milano
The research activities focus on veterinary immunology, host–pathogen interactions, and the molecular characterization of infectious diseases affecting livestock, with particular emphasis on dairy cattle health. Current projects investigate the role of bacterial extracellular vesicles (BEVs) in disease pathogenesis, immune modulation, and their potential as carriers of antimicrobial resistance determinants and virulence factors.
Additional research lines include the identification of molecular biomarkers (e.g., microRNAs and proteins) for early disease detection, the study of antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, and the development of innovative diagnostic approaches for improving animal health and milk quality.
Candidates will be integrated into multidisciplinary projects combining molecular biology, microbiology, and cell culture-based assays, using advanced analytical techniques such as PCR, flow cytometry, nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), and electron microscopy.
The working language is English; knowledge of Italian is not required but may be beneficial for daily interactions.
