Lions Club International

The world's largest organisation in supporting for social and humanitarian initiatives.

Mission

Serve your community, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding

Founded in 1917 by Melvin Jones, the organisation have more than 45,000 clubs and 1.35 million members worldwide and it is active in more than 206 countries and geographic areas.

Members give their time taking part in service activities that transversally embrace all sectors (social, cultural, humanitarian, health, etc.) in which the institutions are not able to give, for understandable structural reasons, exhaustive answers.

"We serve": Lionism motto

Friendship, harmony, participation, acceptance and understanding are our main values.

Become a member of a club: put yourself at disposal of several initiatives and service activities, share the values that the Association expresses through its purposes and its code of ethics.
Be an example - with your behavior- for other citizens accepting duties and assignments related to the life of the club and Lionism in general.

The 'willingness to serve' is therefore the true and main essence of belonging to the Association; a particular requirement to play an active and essential role within a Lions Club.

Lions Club Bologna
