Professor Wessie Ling is a scholar at London Metropolitan University specializing in global fashion studies, creative economies, and postcolonial perspectives. Her interdisciplinary research explores fashion’s role in identity, cultural exchange, and geopolitical power. Notable work includes Game On: The World Fashion Conquest (2006) and studies on Fashion Week globalization (2012). She developed the concept of “fashionalisation” to analyze how fashion institutions both sustain hierarchies and enable new cultural connections.
