Go Green is an interdisciplinary project led by the Department of Social and Political Science at the University of Bologna (Unibo) with the Department of Physics and Astronomy in partnership with the Center for Global Studies (CGS) at the International University of Rabat (UIR). Funded under Unibo's Global South 2022 Programme, it aims to strengthen cooperation with the Mediterranean’s southern shore on climate change research and policies, blending diverse disciplines such as politics, history, economics, anthropology, and natural sciences.

Go Green creates synergies between two university institutions in a field of priority interest at the national and international levels, and targets the mutual reinforcement of knowledge and the strengthening of interconnection with the territory aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG4 of Quality Education. Its primary goal is to promote a reciprocal understanding and handling of climate change issues, focusing on collaborative strategies for adaptation and mitigation.

Key to the project have been two interrelated activities, reflecting a commitment to shared learning, the circulation of knowledge, the exchange of good practices and cooperative development:

Staff Mobility for teaching exchange & research

Training and outreach for NGOs and civil society groups

Start - End dates: 1 April 2023 - 31 December 2024.

The project's overall coordination and scientific oversight is by Giulia Cimini.  Beatriz Mesa leads the local unit in Rabat.
