What do you think about feminism? This question frames the exhibition as a site of reflection, bringing different positions into dialogue across time and space. Presented at FOTOGALERIE WIEN and the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna, the exhibition is the result of a collaboration between these institutions and Federica Muzzarelli, Professor of Photography and Visual Culture at the University of Bologna. Italian women artists from the Donata Pizzi Collection are brought together with Austrian women artists whose works engage in dialogue across the two exhibition venues.
Spanning from the 1960s to the present, the exhibition traces photography as a medium of resistance and self-articulation within patriarchal structures. The works bring overlooked narratives to light, demand visibility, and showcase alternative modes of thinking.
The exhibition reflects an ongoing process of questioning and re-seeing, through which feminist perspectives continue to shift the frame of photography.
