The Forlì European Youth Event is the national version of the large free event that the European Parliament organises in Strasbourg, bringing together over 10,000 young people from all over Europe to discuss the future of the continent.
The European Parliament invites thousands of young people from all over the European Union, aged between 16 and 30, to the EYE (European Youth Event) in Strasbourg to share their ideas on the future of Europe.
This is a unique opportunity for young people to interact and get to know youth organisations in Europe, get inspired by each other and exchange views with experts, activists, influencers and policy-makers, at the heart of the European democracy.
The fifth edition of EYE took place on 9 and 10 June 2023. At the end of the event, young people's ideas, expectations and concerns were collected in the Youth Ideas Report, which was distributed to all members of the European Parliament.
EYE is actively committed to promoting equality, inclusiveness and sustainability, with a focus on accessibility for all participants.
For the first time Italy will host a European Youth Event!
EYE will take place in Forlì, from 17 to 19 May 2024, and will be organised by Punto Europa of the Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, with the support and co-funding of the European Parliament.
All young people, Italians and Europeans, aged between 16 and 30, can participate to EYE Forlì.
The other European cities selected to host the EYE are: Berlin (Germany), Vilnius (Lithuania) and Brežice (Slovenia).
That weekend will mark the first anniversary of the floods that hit the Emilia-Romagna Region in 2023. It will be an opportunity for all participants to commemorate what happened, together with the Italian and European institutions. Participants will have the chance to reflect on the relationship with the environment, the fight against climate change, youth activism. These are all crucial issues in view of the next European elections, which will be held in Italy on 8 and 9 June 2024.
Participants will thus be able to meet other young people, inspire each other and exchange ideas with experts, activists and decision-makers on the future of Europe, to become active citizens and get involved in the activities of the European Parliament.
All EYE Forlì activities will be free of charge. For three days participants will be able to take the floor during debates, participate in workshops and seminars, meet, get to know and play with their peers from all over Italy and Europe.
The activities will begin with the opening ceremony in Piazza Saffi in Forlì on 17 May at 17.30, covering the entire evening. They will continue on the 18 May from 9.30 to 18.30 and on 19 May from 9.30 to 17 at the University of Bologna in the Forlì Campus of the University of Bologna - Teaching Hub building. The closing ceremony will take place at the university campus on 19 May at 17.30.
