Youth Ideas Report

Discover the 20 most significant ideas that emerged from EYE Forli, the result of discussions between young participants and organizations aimed at shaping the future of Europe.

The "Youth Ideas Report" collects the most significant ideas that emerged during EYE Forli 2024, thanks to the efforts of a group of volunteers. A total of 80 ideas were generated during the event, of which we have selected 20 that summarize the main issues addressed by the youth participants. These ideas were organized into different thematic categories: #rights and inclusion, #society, #green, #work, #world and migration.

  • Rights and Inclusion: Participants discussed crucial issues such as mental health, gender equality, the right to vote, and civic education, calling on the European Union to ensure concrete and inclusive rights for all, which are fundamental to full European citizenship.
  • Society: Ideas in this area touched on misinformation and European citizenship in different declinations, addressing issues such as inequality, journalism, use of social media and youth political participation through games, panel discussions and debates.
  • Green: Discussions on the environment focused on topics essential to the EU's sustainable future, such as the circular economy, climate justice and ecosystem protection, with proposals for more education and awareness.
  • Work: ideas revolve around four main themes: equal opportunities, job orientation, new technologies and security. Young people shared their internship experiences, discussed the opportunities offered by new technologies, and stressed the need for more training in their use. They also highlighted difficulties in finding jobs and proposed solutions to improve support and guidance services in schools and universities.
  • World and Migration: Ideas collected in this category ranged from the protection of minorities and languages to journalism and the EU's relationship with African countries. Participants analyzed related issues and proposed innovative solutions.

During the event, there was also a workshop entitled "Back to Ventotene", which allowed young people to reread the Ventotene Manifesto and reflect on Europe's current challenges, contributing to the drafting of the "Forli Manifesto". This document expresses young Europeans' vision of the Europe of today and the future, calling for a European Union that is more inclusive and open to new generations.

The report is a reflection of the confrontation between young people and organizations, and an invitation to Europe to give more space to young people in building the continent's future. Democracy, as stated by the founding fathers of the EU, is a fundamental value to be preserved, and our generation has a responsibility to build a better future, just as Spinelli and Rossi did in Ventotene.
