Seminar organized by the socio-anthropological faculty at the Catholic University of Brescia, focusing on social innovation and the restructuring of social ties in the post-pandemic context
Date: 29 OCTOBER 2024 from 14:30 to 18:00
Event location: Laboratorio di Ricerca e Intervento Sociale (LaRIS) Aula Magna, Via Trieste 17, Brescia
The seminar ‘The Social Impact of Culture, Between Generativity and Urban Innovation’, organised by the socio-anthropological faculty at the Catholic University of Brescia, brings together multiple perspectives to advance a shared reflection.
The aim is to understand how, following the experience of Brescia–Bergamo as Italian Capitals of Culture in 2023, new conditions have emerged for ‘investing’ in culture—both in terms of social innovation and of solidarity and the restructuring of social ties after the pandemic—thus positioning the Brescia context as a pilot area for social innovation.
The seminar seeks, on the one hand, to shed light on the concepts of generativity and cultural welfare, and, on the other, to illustrate how culture provides multiple opportunities for collective empowerment that materialise within multicultural and dynamic urban environments such as Brescia.
