3 PhD Positions Available for Fall 2025

We are excited to announce three fully funded PhD positions within our research group, beginning in Fall 2025 - (3-year Contract)

These positions will be based in Italy and are affiliated with the Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering "Guglielmo Marconi" at the University of Bologna, UNIBO.

As a member of our research team, the PhD students will have the opportunity to contribute to the cutting-edge research project CUE-GO, funded by the European Research Council Starting Grant (1Mil funding). This project delves into highly multidisciplinary topics, spanning signal and radar processing, wireless communications, and machine learning, drawing valuable insights from psychology and behavioral neuroscience.

Joining our team means joining an innovative and collaborative effort that seeks to shape the future of autonomous agents and their decision-making processes.

Possible Activities:

The selected candidates will work on wireless communications and sensing through networks of autonomous agents. The activities will be in line with the project’s objectives:

  • Develop a comprehensive framework for the decision-making of autonomous agents.
  • Design methods for high-resolution semantic mapping of the environment.
  • Design of advanced localization and navigation algorithms to enhance ambient awareness.

 Qualifications:

We are seeking ambitious and motivated candidates with the following qualifications:

  • MSc degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline and completion of a research-oriented master's thesis in a related field.
  • Background in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Wireless Communications, and Machine Learning.
  • Proficiency in programming.
  • A passion for engaging in cutting-edge research and innovation.
