Version for testing Semantic Web and Linked Open Data technologies for Corago content management, search and analysis

Corago LOD is the transposition into RDF format of the contents of the Corago archive, realized with the Semantic Web tools, according to Linked Open Data principles.  Two reference ontologies for cultural heritage were used to formalize the information assets: CIDOC CRM e FRBRoo. Carago LOD explores three fields of application of Semantic Web tools:

  • the extension of the information scope of catalographic databases by identifying relationships with external sources in order to introduce new dimensions and access keys;
  • the study of the potential in terms of data search, analysis and representation arising from interaction with other information sources;
  • experimentation with visual metaphors for semantic-based content navigation and consultation.

The current version is a prototype aimed at testing the search and navigation functionality of the knowledge base.
