(Italy/2022) di Gianni Amelio (130'). The representation of justice in Italian cinema: talk with Gaetano Insolera, Andrea Lollini, Diletta Tega and Guglielmo Pescatore. Moderator: Marco Cucco.
Date: 19 MARCH 2024 from 18:15 to 21:45
Event location: CINEMA MODERNISSIMO - PIAZZA RE ENZO, 1/1
The shameful trial of intellectual Aldo Braibanti, whose real guilt is homosexuality and an affair with a student. Amelio transfigures historical reality, casts it in architectural structures that accentuate its theatrical dimension, enhancing the actors' performances (above all that of Lo Cascio and newcomer Maltese) and linking the Italy of the 1960s to that of today. More than a work of denunciation, it is a film about the horror of prejudice rooted deep in society. (gds)
Admission is free. For the 3:30 pm talk there is no reservation, for the 5 pm projection book your place here.
