The Alumni Chapter of the Department of Mathematics is Born

The Almae Matris Alumni Association continues to grow and is pleased to welcome a new group within the University of Bologna Alumni Community: the Alumni Chapter of the Department of Mathematics.

The Chapter was created with the aim of building a network connecting Alumnae and Alumni who, after their university experience, have pursued professional and personal paths in Italy and abroad, while maintaining a strong bond with the Department and the Alma Mater community.

Today, mathematicians work across a wide range of fields: from research and education to technological innovation, finance, data science, and scientific communication. The new Chapter aims to become a space for connection and discussion where these experiences can be shared and enhanced, fostering networking opportunities among Alumni and encouraging dialogue and collaboration.

Among the group’s main objectives are the organization of events and initiatives dedicated to the community, the sharing of professional and academic opportunities, the promotion of Alumni experiences and stories, and the creation of opportunities for engagement capable of strengthening the sense of belonging to the Department of Mathematics.

The Chapter also aims to be an open and participatory space where Alumni can share ideas, experiences, and projects, contributing to the growth of an international network united by a common educational experience at the University of Bologna.

The Almae Matris Alumni Association wishes the new Chapter and all the Alumni involved the very best for the development and growth of this new community.

The Chapter Team

Contributing to the creation and development of the Alumni Chapter of the Department of Mathematics are Alice Barbieri, Academic Office, Valeria Montesi, Technical and Communication Office, Alessia Cattabriga, Delegate for Third Mission Activities of the Department of Mathematics and Alumni Representative, and Davide Palitta, faculty member and member of the Mathematics Internship Committee.

The team will collaborate in promoting the Chapter’s initiatives and in creating opportunities for connection, networking, and exchange dedicated to the community of Alumnae and Alumni of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Bologna.
