Call for Mentor

Join the UNIBO Alumni Mentor Community: an opportunity for exchange and giving back to help shape the future of UNIBO Alumni.

Becoming a Mentor gives you the opportunity to enhance and share your experience and knowledge to help a graduating student completing their studies or a young graduate entering the job market. Your support, advice, and encouragement can be extremely valuable in guiding their professional choices and creating a positive impact on their future career.

The relationship with a mentee can also open the door to new perspectives, original ideas, and innovative approaches that can bring fresh momentum to your work, encouraging mutual exchange and growth.

Requirements to apply as a Mentor

Graduates of the University of Bologna (including alumni with a degree from Bologna Business School) may apply if they:

  • obtained their degree at least 5 years ago;
  • are members of the Alumni Community;
  • have gained at least 5 years of work experience by the application deadline for the Call for Mentors.

What is required

  1. A commitment of approximately 6 months, from mid-November 2026 to mid-May 2027, with a minimum expected availability of two hours per month dedicated to the Mentee (to be adapted according to the Mentor’s availability and the Mentee’s actual needs). The mentoring relationship may end earlier if the Mentee has already achieved the goals they set for themselves.
  2. Participation in a preparatory training pathway, consisting of a few hours of free training provided by expert coaches, and reading the Guide for Mentors.
  3. Definition of a preferred mentoring approach, and jointly preparing a mentoring diary with the Mentee, including goals, timelines, and achieved results.
  4. Participation in a kick-off meeting to meet the Mentee and other Mentors, as well as in a closing event and a final feedback survey.

Who are the Mentees?

Graduating students and recent graduates of the University of Bologna from various degree programs who apply to the Mentoring Program 2026.
