From July 20 to August 31, the program of Bologna Estate is enriched with "La Dolce Vita", the new show conceived by Polo Cevoli, which will be staged in the sumptuous spaces of Palazzo Re Enzo every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at 7.15 pm.
Date:
Event location: Palazzo Re Enzo, Piazza del Nettuno, Bologna, Italy
The show, inspired by King Enzo, at the time considered as a true "latin lover", aims to present to foreigners their expectations of the Italians' way of being and living, also by making fun of the banal stereotypes that portray us as the land of "Bel Canto" and the "Dolce Vita".
The show will open with a guided tour of Palazzo Re Enzo, to continue with video projections and live performances that will tell the history of our country through its music: from the opera to Lucio Dalla, passing by Pavarotti, to Celentano, Al Bano and I Ricchi e Poveri. There will also be engaging moments of cabaret, in which the Italian gestures and the concept of "Latin lover" will be explained.
Directed by Daniele Sala, script by Francesco Freyrie and music by Davide Belviso, the show will give life to an all-female show: the singers Silvia Donati, Daniela Galli and Barbara Giorgi will wear faithful reproductions of the costumes of the XIII Century.
The event, which will be held entirely in English, is aimed particularly at foreign tourists, but the simplicity of the language and the numerous songs make it accessible to Italian families as well.
*Students at the University of Bologna will be given a discount on the price of the ticket.
