The KIPasti module consists of 40h of spontaneous speech during lunches and dinners with family and friends, i.e. situations in which speakers share a common context and a common background. Conversations include up to 4 participants (mostly 2 or 3) extremely differentiated for age, educational profile, profession and repertoire. The module has been balanced according to the geographical area of data collection (North, Center, South and islands) and thus shows great diatopic variation. The specific communicative situation being recorded is characterized by an informal register, the absence of a pre-assigned topic, and free turn-taking.
