 Carlo Andrea Tassinari is the main researcher for the project VAMP - Voices from the Anthropocene. Maps and Frameworks for Ecological Conflicts. He holds a PhD in Language Sciences from the University of Toulouse 2 and a PhD in Cultural Heritage from the University of Palermo; he serves as assistant professor (RTT) at the Department of Philosophy, University of Bologna.

His research lies between semiotics and social sciences. Within the framework of VAMP, he is interested in the Anthropocene hypothesis from the perspective of cognitive semiotics and semiotics of culture, addressing ecological controversies as conflicts of meaning. Previously, he dealt with the environment and legal discourse, rhetoric and culture in anti-mafia movements, and the appropriation of AI in practices and work environments.

He has taught semiotics, communication and Italianistics at the Universities of Bologna, Toulouse, Palermo and of São Paulo. His research is published in several volumes and international journals.

Claudio Paolucci is is the VAMP project Scientific Supervisor at the host institution the University of Bologna, where he works as full professor of Philosophy and Theory of Languages at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Bologna, where he teaches Semiotics and Philosophy of Language. He is the President of the Italian Society of Philosophy of Language (SFL) and serves as the scientific coordinator of the International Center for Humanistic Studies "Umberto Eco" and as the director of the International Centre for Enactivism and Cognitive Semiotics.

Author of five monographs and over a hundred publications in international journals, Claudio has been the Principal Investigator for thre national interest research projects (PRIN) and two European projects: NeMo, focusing on a semiotics of inter-actions connected to Autism Spectrum Disorders’ early diagnosis and the school system (https://site.unibo.it/nemoproject/en); Fakespotting, addressing falsehoods related to online information (https://site.unibo.it/fakespotting-project/en); and SACreD. Schizophrenia, Autism, and the Myth of Creativity. An Interdisciplinary Perspective on Psychopathological Expression and its Digitalization. Claudio also led has led the Bologna unit in the European project Brand New Inclusion.

His most recent book in English is Cognitive Semiotics: Integrating Signs, Minds, Meaning, and Cognition (2021). He is also author to Nati cyborg. Cosa l'intelligenza artificiale generativa ci dice dell'essere umano (2025).

Jean Crisstus Portela is Full Professor in Semiotics in the Department of Linguistics, Literature, and Classical Languages, as well as in the Graduate Program in Linguistics and Portuguese Language at the School of Sciences and Letters of São Paulo State University (Unesp), Araraquara campus. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Semiotics at the University of Limoges (France) and earned a PhD in Linguistics and Portuguese Language from Unesp, Araraquara (São Paulo, Brazil).

He is a CNPq Research Fellow (Level 2) and leader of the Unesp Semiotics Research Group (GPS-Unesp). He currently serves as Advisor to the Office of Graduate Studies at Unesp. He was Dean of the School of Sciences and Letters, Araraquara campus, from 2021 to 2025.

Author, editor, and translator of numerous scholarly publications, his research focuses on the history and epistemology of the language sciences, particularly semiotics. He served as Vice-Coordinator of the Semiotics Working Group of the National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Letters and Linguistics (ANPOLL) from 2010 to 2012, was a member of the Humanities Area Committee of PROPe/Unesp from 2011 to 2015, Treasurer of the Romance Federation of Semiotics from 2015 to 2019, President of the Brazilian Association for Semiotic Studies (ABES) from 2017 to 2023, and Coordinator of the Capes/PrInt Unesp project Languages and Knowledge Production from 2018 to 2024.

Alexandre supervised the Secondment period underwent by Carlo Andrea at Origens Medialab, where he served as Scientific Coordinator, in partnership with the MSc Strategy and Design for the Anthropocene hosted by Strate School of Design Lyon, that he co-created and coordinated between 2020 and 2024. He is now researcher at École Centrale Méditerranée.

Alexandre holds a PhD in Philosophy from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (summa cum laude). After defending is thesis in 2013, dedicated to the Philosophy of the Web, he then shifted his research towards the Anthropocene and its technological and political boundaries. His studies on ontologies of technology merged in the current of Ecological Redirection, that he co-initiade with Emmanuel Bonnet and Diego Landivar, focusing in particular on the notion of "negative commons".

He is author to several publication in design, philosophy, administration and environmental humanities, along with the book Héritage et fermeture. Pour une écologie du démantelement (that, in 2021, impulsioned the Ecological Redirection approach with Landivar and Bonnet) and his Politiser le renoncement (2023).

Across his career he served as an expert, advisor and animator for multiple hubs and associations that connected enterprises, associations and public administration for developing concrete, theoretically informed strategies for the digital and ecological challanges.
