The Cultural Welfare Ecosystems for Wellbeing project, part of the 2022 Prin PNRR initiative led by the Universities of Bologna and Urbino, pursues two main objectives. On the one hand, it seeks to enrich the debate on the relationship between art and wellbeing by focusing on territorial processes of cultural welfare. Specifically, the project aims to integrate and reformulate the salutogenic approach from the perspective of cultural welfare ecosystems that can positively influence modes of living, inhabiting, producing, consuming, and organizing.
On the other hand, the project is dedicated to improving understanding and awareness of the potential and challenges of cultural welfare practices by collecting data and fostering an active, participatory process of knowledge production at the local level in various Italian territories.
It is argued that the combination of these two core research strands may facilitate the development of integrated, place-based policies aimed at promoting inclusive territorial growth.
