REGISTER BASED STUDY

This will be a register-based study. Data from regional population-based cancer registries (PBCRs) across Italy will be analyzed in collaboration with the Italian Association of Cancer Registries (AIRTUM), concerning the years 2010-2022.

Cervical cancer incidence, mortality, and survival rates will be compared between immigrant and non-immigrant women by country of birth.

Specific objectives

  • To evaluate cervical cancer incidence and mortality among immigrant women compared with women born in Italy.
  • To evaluate the differences in survival rates between Italian and immigrant women.

Methods

This study will analyze data from regional cancer registries across Italy to compare cervical cancer incidence and mortality between immigrant and Italian-born women. We will stratify analyses based on country of birth, age, and cancer stage.

We will estimate and compare how often cervical cancer occurs in immigrants vs. Italian populations. Analyses will also look at differences by country of origin and age group. Survival rates will be examined using statistical models to understand whether outcomes differ between immigrant and Italian-born women.
