Ensuring reliable network services in critical scenarios, such as post-disaster or rural areas, is essential but challenging. The RAIN4C project addresses this by developing a Space-Air-Ground Integrated Network (SAGIN) framework that combines satellite, aerial, and terrestrial systems to enhance connectivity, computation, and caching capabilities. It aims to overcome satellite latency issues and improve coverage and reliability through innovative technologies like multiple-antennas, massive MIMO, and mmWave communications. RAIN4C also focuses on distributing computational tasks and implementing effective caching strategies to meet the demands of critical environments, using centralized and distributed algorithms tested through simulations and real-world applications.
