Advanced Seminar on Water-Based Electric Propulsion for LERMA PhD Researchers.

On 22 October 2025, Prof. Fabrizio Ponti delivered an advanced research seminar for the PhD students and researchers of the LERMA Laboratory at the International University of Rabat.
The seminar focused on ongoing research activities in aerospace propulsion carried out at the University of Bologna, with particular emphasis on plasma propulsion modelling and the scientific challenges associated with water-based electric propulsion.
A dedicated session was devoted to the WET project, presenting the project structure, scientific objectives, consortium expertise, and the methodologies being developed to assess the feasibility of water as a propellant for future electric thrusters. Particular attention was given to the comparison of different propulsion architectures, the modelling of water plasmas, and the role of diagnostic tools in validating numerical and experimental results.
The seminar provided an opportunity for in-depth technical discussions between researchers from UIR and UNIBO and contributed to strengthening scientific collaboration and long-term knowledge exchange within the WET consortium.
