The VARLAB laboratory is the result of a ongoing collaboration between the Department for Life Quality Studies and the Department of Computer Science and Engineering aiming at designing and building distributed and immersive environments to experiment with virtual reality and augmented reality applications. The establishment of the laboratory has been proposed by Gustavo Marfia (Principal Investigator) and endorsed by the following faculty members, Alessandro Amoroso, Ozalp Babaoglu, Daniela Baroncini, Paolo Bellavista, Alan Albert Bertossi, Daniela Calanca, Antonio Corradi, Lorenzo Donatiello, Fabriano Fabbri, Luca Foschini, Maurizio Gabbrielli, Mariella Lorusso, Alberto Malfitano, Simone Martini, Antonella Mascio, Roy Menarini, Edoardo Mollona, Rebecca Montanari, Federica Muzzarelli, Aldopaolo Palareti, Fabio Panzieri, Marco Patella, Giampaolo Proni, Simona Maria Segre Reinach, Ines Tolic and by the technical staff, led by Irene Schena and Maria Cristina Mancini, of the two Departments. The laboratory is funded by the University of Bologna within the AlmaAttrezzature initiative.
