SHORT DESCRIPTION: Post Chapelle is a project carried out by a group of postal workers who have decided to devote themselves to agricultural work on the roof of a Parisian post office. The project allows participants to contribute to sustainable development, both food and environmental point of view. The new green space represents both an element of requalification of the city environment, but it is also an opportunity for workers to see their working environment changed and re-evaluate it.
KEY ACTIVITIES: the new urban garden has an area of 900 square meters on a building of the French Post Office, for a quantity of deposited land of 90 tons. Postal workers grow fruit and vegetables, including lettuces, eggplant and tomatoes, with attention to those plant varieties that have some difficulty to endure long transport journeys.
