NOORDZEE BOERDERIJ

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Noordzee Boerderij is a non-profit foundation established in the Netherlands. Its purpose is to launch and spread the cultivation of seaweeds in the country. It pursues its objectives by collaborating with several research partners and government agencies. The foundation also offers presentations and conferences on the potential of seaweed.

The organization only researches and raises awareness but does not have its own seaweed cultivation.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES: in 2014, Noordzee Boerderij set up the Seaweed platform to share knowledge and stimulate cooperation in the seaweed production sector. Together with more than 70 companies, knowledge institutions and governments, initiatives are being taken to increase algae cultivation in the Netherlands. The platform organizes one workshop each year with which, it deepens the themes dear to the organization. Another key activity for Noordzee Boerderij is the establishment of trial crops.
