SHORT DESCRIPTION: La REcyclerie is situated in an old station in Paris. It is a designing, programming and catering site. The REcyclerie is a combination of different activities whose aims is carrying out a green and sustainable progress. It includes a café, but also an urban farm and a garage for collective repairs, a resource and learning center. The activities of La REcyclerie are based on those that they have defined 4 R: REPENSER (Rethink), RÉDUIRE (Reduce), RÉPARER (Repair), RECYCLER (Recycle), and aim to raise awareness of the values of ecology, with fun and positive methods.
KEY ACTIVITIES: in these spaces, all the actions follow each observing an annual program divided into four quarter, each focusing on one of the 4 R. The Urban Farm, a green space that includes 170 varieties of plants, 4 beehives, 3 bird houses, and a many kind of animals, is a perfect place for school group visits, gardening activities, workshops for children and adults, free or guided tours.
Among the most popular laboratories there is Renè's Atelier, an attempt to combat planned obsolescence by repairing, reusing, recycling and lending objects. The Atelier provides common tools as a basis for independent manual work. What is produced in the garden of La REcyclerie then is used in the Cafè where, fresh and healthy ingredients, are assembled in unique and tasty dishes.
