SHORT DESCRIPTION: inside Fabbrica Italiana Contadina (Italian Farm Factory), Eataly World, in Bologna, works the FICO foundation. It aims to educate on food and sustainability, from an economic, environmental, energetic and social perspective. FICO brings people of all ages to discover food, through direct experience into food chain, in order to promote respect to food and its values. Particular attention is given to the Mediterranean diet and the Italian agribusiness from the point of view of both, producers and consumers, considering the regional diversities and traditions.
KEY ACTIVITIES: FICO operates with many realities of the territory, and also with the Ministry of the Environment, to promote projects in the labs and in the classes on many fields: conscious consumption, territory etc. Moreover, FICO gives much attention to University and to research activities in technological innovation in many scientific areas. On the top of this, it has activated competitions, laboratories and lectures in some schools in Campania or Emilia Romagna region. In this way, students of all ages managed to learn in a not-formal way the works, the shapes and the characters of agronomical tradition.
