De Wielewaal

SHORT DESCRIPTION: De Wielewaal is a school garden located along the river Ooysedijk. It is a garden where students and entire classes can learn in contact with nature. Following the times of agricultural work and seasonal rhythms, the children learn the practice of agricultural work led by experts, but also to live with animals and attention to the climate.

De Wielewaal shows children the food chain before it reaches their table.

 

KEY ACTIVITIES: the main activity is the accompaniment and teaching of the participating children. Experts from the association's domestic gardens give lessons to the children who, after the explanation, go to work accompanied in the most complex operations. The association is open to everyone, anyone can propose themselves as an expert or as a simple collaborator.
