De Hoge Born

SHORT DESCRIPTION: in 2004, the Lievegoed and Zideris groups, together with Wageningen University & Research, decided to create a place where high quality agriculture and care are combined. De Hoge Born is a farm, an organic fruit and vegetable nursery, a pleasant place for those who need day care and occupational therapy. A place where people can relax and at the same time (re)discover together the individual talent. The activities are based on the idea of combining tranquility and practical activities with the help of experts in order to encourage participation and the acquisition of experiences in a stimulating and lively environment.

The commercial character guarantees a concrete and visible result.

KEY ACTIVITIES: De Hoge Born is a reference point for anyone who has the interest, the desire and the need to fit into a career path. Apprentices are supervised in every field activity so that, not only skills, but also self-confidence and motivation are passed on to them. De Hoge Born's start-up areas cover all stages of agri-food production: from agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, livestock farming, retail and transport, to technology maintenance and product transformation. The farm also has a hen-house where chickens are reared for egg production. The production is certified SKAL, the mark that qualifies organic food. De Hoge Born offers, finally, to the citizens and anyone interested, the possibility of guided tours to deepen and live experience.
