Monday 6th July 2026 - Day 1 Recap

After an early wake up for all the team on Monday 6th July, we made our respective journeys to meet at Monaco Yacht Club, ready to get started with the day as soon as the paddock was open to kick off the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge week. Our boat had made it from Bologna to Monte Carlo safely, thanks to the careful planning of the logistics division, and we quickly checked in and started unpacking and setting up our equipment.
The first thing on the day’s agenda was assembling the boat. It required all our departments to work together to ensure the efficient and careful rebuild on the quay. The atmosphere in the paddock was one of excitement; all the teams arrived, one by one, and began setting up their own workstations and reassembling their meticulously-packed boats. Members of each team began to scope out the competition, and we enjoyed speaking to our fellow students, from Messina to Ghent, from La Rochelle to Coimbatore.
A big push from the team led us to completing our boat reassembly in record time, and the marketing team were able to start mounting the stickers from our sponsors onto our brand-new hulls, given to us by the competition.
The day drew to a close, and we packed away, heading to our accommodation for the week to refuel, ready for a busy day tomorrow. We are feeling optimistic and very excited for the week ahead – it is going to be unforgettable!
