Founded in February 2021, China Agricultural Mechanization Center (Former China Agricultural Machinery Testing Center, Center of Agriculture Machinery Extension ) is a bureau-level public institution under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China(MARA).
Former China Agricultural Machinery Testing Center (CAMTC), a bureau-level public institution under MARA, was created in 1951 and took on an extra role in 1998 as the China Quality Certification Center for Agricultural Machinery; while former Center of Agricultural Machinery Extension (CAME), set up in 1982, took on its extra role in 1999 as the Center of Agricultural Machinery Supervision. CAMTC and CAME were co-located in June 2019 and integrated to found CAMC by MARA.
The Center has a total area of 50,013 m2, including a testing ground (28,813 m2) and two office buildings, and a floor space of 24,408 m2, including 3,652 m2 for laboratories. It is made up of 19 divisions with 120 staff (incl. 80 senior professionals).
Roles recognized by national authorities or international organizations:
CAMC has advanced testing and appraisal methods, equipped with full-featured laboratories, tractor testing grounds and over 300 domestic or imported testing instruments and equipment. CAMC is an accredited tester and evaluator for 97 machines (eg. tractors, combustion engines), implements and their parts.China has put in place a full-fledged regulatory framework since the system of appraisal of agricultural machinery for extension was established in1983, consisting the Law on the Promotion of Agricultural Mechanization, Administrative Measures on the Testing and Appraisal of Agricultural Machinery, normative documents including Protocols on the Testing and Appraisal of Agricultural Machinery, and operation manuals.Under the auspices of CAMC, agricultural machinery testing stations across China have completed nearly 106,000 appraisal tests (over 86,000 for extension and around 20,000 for new products, new models and performance), and over 47,000 tests for miscellaneous items. Having issued over 27,000 valid certificates for approved agricultural machines, CAMC has contributed, from a technological sense, to mechanizing China’s agricultural sectors and implementing the agricultural machinery purchase subsidy.
The laboratory has inspection instruments and equipment, test track and other facilities that meet the requirements of OECD tractor codes and EU Regulations, and can undertake the inspection and related tests of tractor approval. It has the ability to carry out performance test of Tractors and the single-item tests such as ROPS, Seat-belt anchorages, mechanical couplings, Fuel tanks, Safty belts , etc.
