The StartUp Day is the final event in a series of activities designed to prepare you for entering the business world. Lots of initiatives are run before the StartUp Day.

Call for Ambassadors

If you are passionate about innovation and new projects and interested in sharing a fun and formative experience with some of the University’s most brilliant students and graduates, you too can join our team and take part in the “Call for Ambassadors”.

iBooster

A series of meetings aiming to inspire young talents and future entrepreneurs. The talks will be held by entrepreneurs and experts from the business world, with topics relating to innovation, creativity, business, future and social development. A way of increasing the collective intelligence, enhanced by the contributions of people whose determination has led to experience and who wish to share their willpower and enthusiasm with others.

Welcome Kit

Four practical/hands-on meetings preparing for the presentation of project proposals for the “Call for StartUps 2021”, emerging ideas category on the following topics:

  • Need Finding
  • customer identification
  • Design - Value Proposition
  • Team

Who it's for: students, fresh graduates (no more than three years).

When it takes place: February

Basic Academy

The training programme on models and tools useful for enhancing entrepreneurial potential, results and research projects with a high level of innovation addressed to the whole University of Bologna research community.

The goal of the Basic Academy is to train the participants in drafting a Business model, and participation may therefore be functional to the Call for spin-off project.

Who it's for: PhD students, teachers, researchers, research fellows

Call for StartUps

To take part in the event, you can answer the Call for StartUps 2021 in one of the two categories:

  • Emerging ideas: focusing on new ideas. The 30 best project ideas will be selected to take part in a cycle of 6 thematic hackathons. The cycle aims to develop the ideas so they are ready for a business pitch given during the StartUp Day. The selected participants will also have the possibility to join the start-up programme.
  • Established start-ups: devoted to already established start-ups. The 10 best start-ups selected will have direct access to the StartUp Day and the business acceleration services offered by AlmaCube.

Students interested in taking part as players can put their own competences in play to develop the ideas selected for the StartUp Day.
