Ulisse is a seaweed culture that offers services of environmental bioremediation and income to society.
Ulisse is a controlled algae cultivation that uses biodegradable supports. The cultivation enables to obtain algal biomasses to supply the Italian market demand, as well as to provide environmental improvement services. Ulisse's core aims are: to subtract the excess of nutrients and contaminants washed out in marine waters deriving from anthropogenic impacts; to create refuges and nurseries for marine wildlife that are nowadays almost absent; to improve long-term fishing and mussel farming activities; to create new job opportunities; to collaborate in an intersectoral way.
