Kicking-off SMART-ER! Participation in the Civil Protection Department Conference

SMART-ER! was selected among the projects of the Conference ‘Human and Social Sciences for the Civil Protection System’ organised by the Dept. of Civil Prot. of IT Council of Ministers.

On this occasion, the importance of the scientific community as an operational structure of the national civil protection service was discussed.

The central topic of the discussion was the impact of emergencies and interventions on people. Safety was defined as the ‘biological, physiological, neurological and psychological experience of each individual’. There was also a focus on how help is to be provided to people in emergencies: non-intrusive, in response to basic needs, with emotional regularisation.

The poster sessions were an opportunity for exchange and mutual knowledge. SMART-ER! also brought its poster presentation to Rome (see image above).
