S-L for Transferable Competences

Acquiring civic competences, improving your critic awareness, experimenting teamwork, and how to cope with unexpected and frustrating situations through S-L. An opportunity provided (currently) by Bologna and Cesena branches (unfortunately, the projects are not translated)

The laboratory-based on the methodology of Service-Learning offers an opportunity of experiential learning (learning) and active engagement (service) within the community and to work on a concrete problem identified in the context of a partnership between the university and community organizations / territorial services. At the end of the activity, the student can understand problems in context and reflect on what civic engagement is; he/she has experienced group work, has practised his/her communication and relational skills and can document his/her civic engagement experience and discuss it critically.
The laboratory uses active learning methodologies such as experiential learning supervised in the field (by tutors from community organizations) and the classroom (by the professor in charge of the training activity)

The following activities are planned:

-       class meetings to introduce the methodology

-       fieldwork

-       on-going supervisory meetings (on the field and / or in the classroom)

-       activity documentation

-       Public presentation of the experience to community stakeholders
