Risk assessment of unregulated fibrous minerals and analysis of trace contaminant minerals

In parallel with the waste recovery efforts, specialized studies were conducted to detect the possible occurrence (in trace) of carcinogenic minerals in sediments analogous to those used in the project. This research focused on the characterization of unregulated fibrous materials, such as fibrous datolite and halloysite nanotubes, which, despite falling outside current asbestos legal definitions, share a similarly potentially hazardous morphology. This ensures that the transition toward a circular economy remains strictly compliant with public health safety standards.
