Main research activities/topics/projects

In the project AlpiLinK (Alpine Languages in Contact) we are concerned with the documentation, investigation and promotion of the Germanic, Romance and Slavic dialects and minority languages spoken across the Alpine regions of Italy (the project was funded by the Italian Research Ministry as a “Project of relevant national interest” for three years). Our main research focus is contact-induced change in the dialects and minority languages in Northern
Italy, in particular German but also Italian regional varieties under the umbrella of the Italian national languages. We invite Phd students and postdocs working on German and Italian varieties under the umbrella of the Portuguese national language in Brazil, especially Hunsrückisch, Pomerano and Talian in Rio Grande do Sul.
