Main research activities/topics/projects

I welcome proposals in the field of medieval Germanic literatures and medieval Geman studies, with emphasis on the heroic tradition (e.g. Dietrich von Bern), as well as on the reception of Classical Antiquity (especially Ovid and Virgil) across manuscript and print cultures. I am equally interested in projects addressing the modern and contemporary reception of the Middle Ages, including processes of cultural reinterpretation, adaptation, and canon formation from the nineteenth century to the present. Projects adopting interdisciplinary approaches — combining philology, literary studies, manuscript studies, book history, reception studies, and digital humanities — are especially encouraged. I am also interested in proposals focusing on digital scholarly editing, including the critical editing of medieval manuscripts, early printed editions, and illustrated codices, employing XML/TEI standards and innovative digital methodologies. Projects engaging with material philology, textual transmission, visual-textual interaction, and the long-term preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage are highly welcome.
