Main research activities/topics/projects  

Applications are solicited in any domain of Second Language Acquisition, particularly in relation to Slavic languages. The host’s expertise lies primarily in the following topics: development of nominal morphology (inflectional and derivational), the role of input (usage-based approaches), first-exposure studies, and cross-linguistic influence. Particular attention is paid to disentangling the transfer effects from universal acquisitional tendencies. In terms of methodology, Jacopo Saturno favours structured experimental protocols. Accordingly, over time he has developed an interest and some skills in statistics, with particular reference to the Bayesian approach to statistical inference.
