• The incubator’s goal is to challenge the food system by helping small businesses with innovative and sustainable ideas.
• The incubators’ main partners are mainly private businesses within the food industry in the Netherlands.
• The main criterium applied by the incubator is that the tenants must be interested to work within the field of the incubators’ industry. The business idea does not necessarily need to be fast-growing and scalable; all kinds of startups are accepted in the program, including lifestyle, one-person businesses.
• Trainings are given by the internal staff. When the staff does not have enough in-depth knowledge on certain topics, external experts are invited to offer the tenants the best possible training. The language of the trainings is in English.
• Contents of the programs are focused on basics of the entrepreneurship and of building a business. The topics covered can range from innovation, marketing, or sustainability, among others.
• The incubator’s characteristic is the continuous networking that it offers to its tenants: they often organize networking formal and informal events with small and large businesses, or among the programs’ tenants and its alumni.
