Blended training, group mentoring and cultural mediation in Italy

• Materahub is a private, not-for-profit organisation offering several programs promoting entrepreneurship as an education tool to different targets.

• Among these programs, the organisation has developed a comprehensive entrepreneurial support scheme designed for migrants that includes tools and methods to assess entrepreneurial skills and competencies and also a tailored training program to pre-startups and startups.

• The pre-startup training aims to detect and define a clear business idea, to become aware of its potentials and focus on how to make it a living business project. External experts are supported by cultural mediators.

• The startup training aims to provide clear and effective tools and competences to make the startup a living business project. Training courses regarding business are paired with mentoring circles to enable learners to exchange knowledge and learn from peers in a supportive group environment.

• Internal tutors define the activity plan and teach, supported by external experts on technical topics.

• Cultural mediators helped contextualise and clarify the subjects of the training by pointing out cultural elements that were not straightforward to external and internal trainers and tutors.
