This international Open Innovation programme aims to generate new ideas, and is part of IdeaSquare, the open innovation laboratory of the CERN in Geneva.

Young engineers, designers, economists, scientists, humanities, legal and medical scholars and students from all disciplines are selected to form interdisciplinary teams with other students from national and international universities.

The programme joins university students to tackle the challenges of society in the spirit of open innovation, creating solutions that contribute to the United Nations sustainable development goals.

Having defined the goals and methodologies for each edition, the teams of students, the main protagonists of the event, join the programme and develop projects inspired by the CERN science, tackling the sustainable development goals. The teams of students interact with the CERN experts, who help them to link their projects with CERN science and technology in the best way.
