2nd International Symposium on Social Legacies of the Games: Perspectives towards Milano-Cortina 2026

30–31 January 2026 · Bologna

Two days of international discussion on the social legacies of major sporting events—across media, representation, inclusion, and cultural policy.

This event was supported by the PRIN PNRR research project “dis-ABILITY!” (Principal Investigator: Prof. Pappous); the project focuses on empowering Paralympic athletes to define their own media representation. Over the two days the research team

  • hosted talks and roundtable sessions with National Paralympic Committees, international academics and stakeholders  with a strong emphasis on social legacy and inclusion;
  • presented the key findings of the project on how athletes experience and perceive Paralympic media coverage.

This event, which was conducted entirely in English, serves as a laboratory for co-creation, focused on applying scientific evidence to real-world practices.
