European University legacies: Problematic Heritage and Contemporary Practice”

The launch of the book “European University legacies: Problematic Heritage and Contemporary Practice” is a welcome moment to focus on the growing attention to problematic heritage across the Coimbra Group. With contributions from 14 universities, the book challenges straightforward narratives of universities as sites of intellectual progress alone, bringing into the debate the remembrances of colonial pasts, material legacies, racialized inequalities and problematic histories. The event will involve presentations from selected authors presenting insights alongside university leaders sharing thoughts about next steps.
